AMA Acres – Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 01/01/2026


Welcome to AMA Acres. By visiting our website or contacting us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing or reserving any animals from us.


1. No Online Sales

AMA Acres does not sell animals online.

  • We do not process payments through our website.
     
  • We do not ship animals.
     
  • All animals must be picked up in person at our farm in Rio Linda, California unless other arrangements are discussed directly.
     

All sales are made face-to-face only.


2. Appointments & Farm Visits

Because we are a small, working farm:

  • Visits are by appointment only
     
  • We offer flexible scheduling when possible
     
  • Visitors must follow farm safety rules while on the property
     

We reserve the right to refuse visits to anyone behaving in an unsafe or disrespectful manner.


3. Animal Health & Responsibility

We do our best to raise healthy animals. At the time of pickup:

  • Animals are sold as-is
     
  • Health condition is disclosed to the best of our knowledge
     
  • Once the animal leaves our property, care and responsibility transfer to the buyer
     

We are not responsible for:

  • Illnesses or injuries after pickup
     
  • Veterinary bills
     
  • Growth rate, show placement, fertility outcomes, or meat quality outcomes
     

Livestock involves risk and variability, and the buyer acknowledges this.


4. Deposits & Holds (if you take deposits)

If you take deposits, use this section. If not, tell me and I will remove it.

If deposits are used:

  • Deposits are required to hold an animal
     
  • Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
     
  • If the buyer does not pick up as agreed, we may resell the animal and deposit will be forfeited
     

If an animal becomes unavailable due to illness or unforeseen circumstances on our end, we will:

  • offer transfer to another animal, or
     
  • refund the deposit
     

5. Pickup Requirements

At pickup:

  • Buyer must provide transportation suitable for livestock
     
  • Buyer is responsible for securing the animal during transport
     
  • We reserve the right to refuse release of an animal if transport is unsafe
     

No animals will be released if we believe mistreatment or neglect will occur.


6. No Guarantee of Show Results or Weight Gain

While we focus on producing quality stock, we cannot guarantee:

  • Show results or judge placements
     
  • Rate of gain
     
  • Adult size
     
  • Market weight by a certain date
     

Many factors beyond our control affect these outcomes, including feed, care, stress, training, and environment.


7. Website Content

All information on our website is for general information only.

We try to keep information accurate but:

  • Availability of animals may change
     
  • Prices are subject to change
     
  • Errors may occur in descriptions or photos
     

We reserve the right to update website content without notice.


8. Limitation of Liability

AMA Acres and farm owners are not liable for:

  • Injuries occurring on farm property
     
  • Injuries caused by livestock
     
  • Financial losses related to animal performance
     

Visitors and buyers assume all risks associated with livestock and farm environments.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.


Common items in a terms and conditions agreement allow you to:

  • Withdraw and cancel services, and make financial transactions.
  • Manage customer expectations, such as liability for information errors or website downtime.
  • Explain your copyright rules, such as attribution, adaptation, commercial or non-commercial use, etc.
  • Set rules for user behavior, like forbidding unlawful behavior, hate speech, bullying, promotions, spam, etc.
  • Disable user accounts.
  • Write down any other terms or conditions that protect you or your audience.

Return and Refund Policy

  

AMA Acres – Return & Refund Policy

Effective Date: 01/01/2026


Because we sell live animals, all sales are considered final once the animal leaves our property.

We encourage all buyers to carefully inspect animals at the time of pickup and ask any questions before completing the sale.


1. No Returns on Live Animals

For the safety of our herd and biosecurity reasons:

  • We do not accept returns of animals
     
  • We do not offer exchanges once an animal has left our property
     

Animals that leave the farm are exposed to outside environments and cannot safely be brought back.


2. Health at Time of Sale

To the best of our knowledge at pickup:

  • Animals are healthy and fit
     
  • Any known conditions are disclosed
     

Once the animal leaves AMA Acres:

  • All care and responsibility transfer to the buyer
     
  • We are not responsible for stress, illness, injury, or death caused by transport, environment, feed, or care practices
     

We always recommend establishing a relationship with a qualified livestock veterinarian.


3. Refunds

Refunds are generally not provided after pickup of the animal.

Refunds may be offered only at our discretion if:

  • An animal you reserved becomes unavailable while still in our care
     
  • There is an error on our part prior to pickup
     

Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
 

4. Buyer Responsibility

By purchasing an animal from AMA Acres, the buyer acknowledges:

  • Livestock ownership involves risk
     
  • Growth, temperament, fertility, show results, or meat quality are not guaranteed
     
  • Proper nutrition, housing, veterinary care, and handling are the buyer’s responsibility
     

We are happy to answer questions and offer general guidance, but ultimate responsibility belongs to the buyer.
